Take a Seat!
Through a series of stools distributed across various NYC public gathering spaces, this project presents how I believe designed objects can nurture communal values in an often isolating, sometimes destructive, urban environment. It also provides me a method to share my work in a way that is free for anyone to use, move, alter, or take home with them.
In doing so, my hope is that it will encourage anyone who encounters these stools to spend a moment outside with someone else. And for anyone who does bring one into their homes, I hope they will be reserved as a spare seat, ready to welcome friends and family in to share a conversation or a meal.
If you came across one of these stools, feel free to send me a quick message here
If you are able, consider helping me continue to distribute free stools by buying one of these hardwood pieces available for sale.
Reach out to me here with any purchase inquiries. Every sale helps to sponsor a new pair to be given back to the New York City community—buy a stool, give two!
All pieces are handmade by me in Brooklyn, NY.
