Aluminum Extrusions
Sapele, Oil and Wax Finish
Comprised of a series of ergonomic modules supported by an extruded aluminum frame, this desk chair is a manifestation of Le Corbusier’s ideology that seats are but machines for sitting.
The aluminum extrusions that compose the structural elements of the chair allows for both rigidity when in use and infinite adjustability when needed; by just adjusting a handful of screws, all critical ergonomic dimensions can be individually tailored for the end user.
Sapele wood is utilized for every surface of the chair that the user directly interacts with. The warm nature of wood - both visually and phsycially - helps to soften the cold aluminum. Likewise, the material’s ability to be shaped through a combination of automatic and manual processes to create more organic forms is ideal to support the human body.
